Sontefa Energy's path started while our founder Thierno Oumar Bella Diallo was an entrepreneurship major student at the Fox School of Business at Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. During a class project, he pitched to classmates his vision to provide better living conditions to over 630 millions people who live without electricity in Sub-Saharan Africa starting into his motherland, Guinea in West Africa. Few talented and motivated classmates who share his vision decided to join him on a journey to write a business plan and compete in one of the most lucrative business plan completion in the nation, the Temple University Be Your Own Boss Bowl (BYOBB) in 2017.
Thierno decided to return in Guinea in 2020 to officially launch Sontefa Energy after he won the second 2nd Prize for the Social Track at the 2017 BYOBB and reached the final of the 2018 African Entrepreneurship Award.
